CHAPTER 5: DISEASE INFORMATION
With more treatments being developed and put into practice every day, it is difficult to find
time to research the latest treatments of choice, even for the most common of ailments.
Disease information available in Healthcare Series is loosely categorized by treatment type:
General Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
The DISEASEDEX™ General Medicine System supports disease management with unbiased,
evidence-based information and identification of best practices for treating diseases. It lets

presentation, laboratory and diagnostic findings, and therapeutic modalities. Provides an
ongoing cumulative review of international literature discussing emergency and acute care
medicine and includes clinical review, clinical abstracts, and prehospital care protocols.
The Clinical Checklist™ System is available to all DISEASEDEX subscribers and is the "must
do" "never do" database. It is a compilation of the most pertinent patient care interventions on
commonly encountered conditions that should always or never be done. The information is
action-oriented and concise and is based on nationally recognized quality standards and the
highest rated medical evidence.
Each checklist item contains graded recommendation and evidence information. These
evidence ratings embed evidence-based medicine into clinical operations, and ultimately,
maximize reimbursement by ensuring that clinical decisions are in compliance with the latest

treatment options, and other valuable clinical information.
