Ill ~ Q 0 z u:: CHARGING CONGRATULATIONS to the purchase of your new professional switch mode battery chorger. This charger is included in o series of professional chargers from CTEK SWEDEN AB ond represents the latest technology in battery charging. SUPPLY PLUG • MAINS CABLE 1. Connect the charger to the battery. 2.Connect the charger lo the woll socket. The power lamp will indicate that the mains cable is connected to the wall socket. The error lomp will indicate if the battery clomps ore incorrectly connected. The reverse polarity protection will ensure that the battery or charger will not be damaged. 3 , Press the MODE-button to se lect charging program. 4. Fallow lhe 8-step display through the charging process. The battery is ready to start the engine when STEP 4 is lit. The battery is fully charged when STEP 7 is lit. 5. Stop charging at any time by disconnecting the mains coble from the wall socket. After about two seconds the charger activa tes the selected program. The selected program will be restarted next time the charger is connected. Pulsing current ond voltoge, removes sulphote from the leod plotes of the bottery restoring the bottery copocity. STEP 2 SOFT START Tests if the bottery con occept chorge. This step prevents thot chorging proceeds with o defecl bollery. STEP3 BULK Chorging with moximum current until opproximotely 80% battery capacity. STEP 4 ABSORPTION Charging with declining current to maximize up to 100% bottery capacity. ' STEP S ANALYSE Tests if the ballery can hold c harge. Batterie• that can not hold charge may need tobe re placed. STEP 6 RECOND Choose the Recond program to add the Recond step to the charging proce"! During the Recond step voltage increases to creote controlled gosing in the ballery. Gosing mixe• the bollery ocid ond gives back eneruy to the bottery. CTEK bottery chorgers produce very clean voltoge ond current with low ripple. SAFETY LIMITED WARRANTY • The charger is designed lor charging 12V lead-acid batteries. Do not use the charger lor ony other purpose. Check the charger coble s prior to use. Ensure that no crocks have occurred in the cables or in the bend protection. A chorger with domoged cables must not be used. A do moge coble must be reploced by o CTEK represento tive. • Never charge a damaged battery. • Never charge a frozen battery. Never place the charger on top of the battery when charging. Always provide lor proper ventilation during charging. Avoid covering the chorger. A battery being charged could emit explosive gasses. Prevent sporks close to the bollery. When botte ries are reaching the end ol their lifecycle internol sporks may occur. All batteries fail sooner or later. A battery that fails during charging is normally taken care of by the chargers odvonced control, but some rare errors in the battery could still exist. Don't leove ony bottery during charging unattend ed lor a langer period oflime. • Ensure that the cabling does not jam or comes into contoct with hot surfaces or sharp edges.
