Section 5: Troubleshooting Table 5-6: Display/Audible Tones Problems Condition 3. Audible alarm does not sound. Recommended Action 1. Verify alarm volume setting in Alarm/Limits menu, and test operation of alarm tone by pressing Heart Rate Tone Volume switch while alarm volume setting is displayed. 2. Ensure speaker cable is connected to power supply assembly. 3. If problem persists, replace speaker assembly. 4. If problem persists, replace main PCB. 5.6.5 Operational Performance Table 5-7 lists recommended actions to address problems related to operational performance. Table 5-7: Operational Performance Problems Condition 1. 2. Monitor appears to be operational, but physiological values are suspect or nonexistent. Printer paper will not advance. Recommended Action 1. Replace each patient cable (or hose) with a known serviceable cable. 2. Ensure internal ECG, temperature, and SpO2 cables are connected to main PCB. Ensure hoses in pneumatic system are properly connected, and NIBP pump motor is connected to power supply PCB. 3. If problem persists, replace main PCB. 1. Open printer door and check paper is present. Press printer module firmly into monitor to ensure printer module is fully engaged with connector on printer PCB. 2. Cycle power on monitor. Printer should execute a line feed at conclusion of powerup sequence. 3. If problem persists, ensure main ribbon cable is connected to printer PCB, power supply, and main PCB. 4. If problem persists, replace printer. 5. If problem persists, replace printer PCB. 6. If problem persists, replace main PCB. 5-9
