The GSM Gat e I nt ercom incorporat es a professional indust rial grade GSM engine t hat
receives calls at it s SI M num ber, as any ordinary GSM phone. The syst em operat es in
t he GSM m odule Quad- band 850/ 900/ 1800/ 1900Mhz.
When a visit or arrives at your propert y t hey w ill press t he call but t on on t he int ercom
w hich w ill t hen connect t o a phone num ber ( up t o 3 num bers can be added w hich w ill be
rung in sequence) of your choosing, once you answ er t he phone and speak t o t hem you
can t hen open t he gat e from your phone and let t hem in rem ot ely from w herever you
are in t he wor ld.
You can also open t he gat es by dialing t he sim card num ber held w it hin t he int ercom
The advant ages of t his over ot her syst em s are t hat y ou do not have t o leave your car t o
open your gat es, avoiding w eat her or safet y issues, you don't need t o carry around a
separat e rem ot e dev ice or indeed replace it if it w ere t o get lost !

I nst alling your sim card
New SI M cards w ill need regist ering before t hey can be used. Full det ails of how t his is
done can norm ally be found in t he SI M card pack. I t w ill usually require t hat t he SI M
card is insert ed int o a m obile phone, a num ber dialed and inst ruct ions follow ed. While
t he SI M is in t he m obile phone it w ould be a good t im e t o disable any PI N codes, call
divert s, ring back and disable feat ures such as v o i ce m a i l and t ext alert s. Det ails of how
t o do t his is found on t he SI M card provider’s w eb sit e or by calling t heir cust om er
services. Please use one of t he follow ing SI M card providers ( Vodafone, TMobile, O2/ Giff
Gaff or Or ange) . We do not recom m end using 3 at t his present t im e
Please be advised that if the intercom will be used on a regular basis, we would
recommend a contract based sim card as pay as you go call charges can be as high as
25p per call.
The GSM Gat e/ Door I nt ercom has a built in “ sim act ive funct ion” w hich keeps t rack of
t he unit ’s act ivit y and if t here has been no usage for 6 w eeks it w ill send out a t ext
m essage t o a preset recorded num ber t o k eep t he sim card alive, t his t hen elim inat es t he
problem s of sim s being shut dow n if t hey are unused for 3 m ont hs.

1: Slide back t he sim door and lift it up.
2: slide t he sim card in t o t he door m ak ing sure t hat t he clipped corner of t he sim card
lines up w it h t he clipped corner of t he sim holder.
3: Close t he sim door .
4: Slide the sim door t o lock t he sim card in place.
Connect 12v – 24 v DC t o t he input connect or as per figure 1.
Once pow er has been applied, referring t o figure 1, t he blue net w ork LED light w ill
flash once ev ery second w hilst searching for a m obile signal, once it has found one
it w ill t hen revert t o flashing once every 3 seconds.
You can ident ify t he signal st rengt h by t he 3 led’s.

seconds.

You can open t he Gat e/ Door direct from a m obile phone or landline by calling t he
sim card num ber, once you call t he num ber t he GSM I nt ercom w ill rej ect t he call, but w ill
t ake t he com m and t o open the gat e/ Door .
We have a caller I D funct ion cont rolled by dipsw it ch 2, if t his is set t o ON only t he
num bers st ored on t he sim card w ill be aut horized t o open t he Gat e/ Door , if set t o OFF
t here is no caller I D securit y and any caller can open t he gat e.
By Texting
You must first enter the telephone numbers that are authorized to use the Intercom .
By sending a text message with the authorized numbers.

Then send this as a text to the intercom simcard.

Note: You can only send one number at a time, it is important to wait until you receive a text

If you do not need authorized numbers you can turn Dip Switch 2 to Off
Please make sure you have credit on your simcard to receive text Acknowledgment.
It may take a time to receive a text acknowledgement this depends upon how
busy your telephone network is.
