want you to get the most out of your equipment by using it at a safe sound level; a level that lets the sound come through clearly without annoying
blaring or distortion _ and, most importantly, without affecting your sensitive hearing.
Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing "comfort level" adapts to higher volumes of sound. So what sounds "normal" can actually be
loud and hannful to your hearing. Set your equipment at a safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts.
To establisb a safe level:
• Start your volume control at a low setting.
• Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortably and clearly, without distortion.
Once you bave established a comfortable sound level:
Used wisely, your new sound equipment can provide fun and enjoyment. Since hearing damage from loud noise is often undetectable until it is too late,
PIONEER and the Consumer Electronics Association recommend you avoid prolonged exposure to excessive noise. Under constant exposure such as
sustained listening, sound levels above 85 decibels can be dangerous without hearing protection. (For reference, a garbage disposal or loud shouting at 3
feet away are around 80 decibels; a food blender or gas lawn mower at 3 feet away are around 90 decibels.> The longer your exposure andlor higher the
sound level, the greater the danger of permanent hearing damage. Also, playing loud music or other sounds in a vehicle can hinder your ability to hear
traffic or emergency vehicles. We recommend using low volume levels when driving so you can still hear sounds outside your vehicle. PIONEER disclaims
all liability for hearing loss, bodily injury or property damage as a result of use or misuse of this product.

To prevent damage to your speakers please observe the following caution. At high volume
levels if the music sounds distorted or additional sounds are perceived lower the volume.
This may be caused by excessive input to the speakers. The sound you are hearing could
be the speaker cone becoming out of control or it may be the voice coil actually coming into
contact with the magnetic assembly. Under these circumstances, it is prudent to lower the
volume to just below the point where these phenomena occur. If your amplifier has a gain
control it would be advisable to lower this control slightly to prevent this from reoccurring. In
some cases, if there is an equalizer in the system, the bass control on this unit could also
be readjusted to prevent this from happening. If higher volume or sound pressure levels (spl)
than those which the speaker can reproduce are desired. it is recommended that additional
speakers be added to the system. By doing so it is possible to gain significant increases in
sound pressure levels. In some cases. you may double the perceived system output without
any deterioration in sound quality. When installing the speakers. or after installation make
sure not to subject the diaphragms to 'direct shock (for example. dropping sharp-edged
objects onto them) as the speakers may be damaged. Since this speaker is continuously
used being tumed on full blast, temperature 01 the magnetic circuit rises, avoid touching it
directly by hand and placing something near it If it is heated, it may cause a bum.
deformation of or damage to peripheral things. If this speaker is used as it is mounted on a
cabinet whose volume is larger than the recommended size or used alone in a free air. it will

PIONEER recommends that this speaker be used in conjunction with amplifiers

d'ajouter des haut-parleurs supplementaires au systeme. On peut ainsi obtenir des
augmentations considerables de niveaux de pression acoustique, Dans certains cas, on peut

Installant les haut-parleura ou apres les avoir installes, veiller l ne pas endommager leurs
diaphragmes (en lailsant tomber dessus del objets coupants, par exemple) car ils
pourraient etre endommages. Quand ce haut.parleur est utilise de fafon continue a plein
volume, la temperature de ses circuits magnetiques lI'eleve, evitez donc de Ie toucher
directement de la main ou de placer des objets A pronmite. 8'il eat chaud, il pourrait

Para evitar danos nos seus alto-falanles, por favor, tome os seguintes cuidados. Caso se perceba. a aliOS

DESIGNED FOR ENCLOSURE USE
This series subwoofer is designed to provide optimum bass perfonnsnce when used in a
speaker enclosure with appropriate internal volume. If the internal volume of the enclosure is
smaller than the recommended size. the speaker will nol be able 10 reproduce frequencies
as low as thai of the recommended enclosure. If the internal volume of the enclosure is
larger than what is recommended. it will adversely affect the frequency response
characteristics and performance of the speaker. This is commonly referred to as
under-damped alignment. Over excursion of the subwoofer may result PIONEER
recommends the speaker enclosure be manufactured with 314" MDF particle board. Always
glue and screw the enclosure together to ensure it is correctly sealed. Whenever possible
seal all edges with silicone caulking as wei. PIONEER recommends that the inner wall of
the enclosure be covered with a sound-absorbing material 10 provide better sound quality.
These suggestions should be followed when building a ported enclosure as well.
This subwooler's unique double-cone design achieves high effICiency in a small sealed
enclosure, when installed with the cone lacing oul Installation in an upside-down
configuration (basket pointed outwards) will result in the loss of some bass elClension and
power handling capability (down to 80%).

value, at the option of PUSA or POC, without charge to you for parts or actual repair work. Parts supplied under this warranty may be new or rebuilt at the option of PUSA or POCo

PUSA and POC have appointed a number of Authorized Service Companies throughout the U.S.A. and Canada should your product require service. To receive warranty service
you need to present your sales receipt or, if rented, your rental contract showing place and date of original owner's transaction. If shipping the unit you will need to package
it carefully and send it, transportation prepaid by a traceable, insured method, to an Authorized Service Company. Package the product using adequate padding material to
prevent damage in transit. The original container is ideal for this purpose. Include your name, address and telephone number where you can be reached during business hours.

Should your car speaker require service please return it to your retail dealer for exchange. To receive warranty service you will need to present your sales receipt showing
place and date of original owner's retail purchase. If, for any reason, you can not exchange speakers at the selling dealer call Customer Support at the number below.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION
IN THE U.S.A. - Following our respOflse to any initial request to Customer Support, should a dispute arise between you and Pioneer, Pioneer makes available its Complaint
Resolution Program to resolve the disf'ute. The Complaint Resolution Program is available to you without charge. You are required to use the Complaint Resolution Program
before you exercise any rights under, or seek any remedies, created by Title I of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty-Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act, 15 U.s.C. 2301 et seq.
To use the Complaint Resolution Program call 1-800-421-1404 and explain to the customer service representative the problem you are experiencing, steps you have taken
to have the product repaired during the warranty period and the name of the authorized Distributor/Dealer from whom the Pioneer product was purchased. After the complaint
has been explained to the representative, a resolution number will be issued. Within 40 days of receiving your complaint, Pioneer will investigate the dispute and will either:
(1) respond to your complaint in writing informing you what action Pioneer will take, and in what time period, to resolve the dispute; or (2) respond to your complaint in writing
informing you why it will not take any action.
