RC-E User Manual Introductions The RC-E Recording Server What? Used for recording video and for communicating with cameras and other devices. In large installations, more than one recording server is often used on the surveillance system. Failover servers can be set up to take over if a recording server becomes temporarily unavailable. Where? Recording servers as well as failover servers run as services, and are typically installed on separate servers rather than on the management server itself. The Management Client (RC-E Manager) What? Feature-rich administration client for configuration and day-to-day management of the system. Available in several languages. Where? Typically installed on the surveillance system administrator's workstation or similar. The Download Manager What? Lets surveillance system administrators manage which RC-E -related components your organization's users will be able to access from a targeted web page generated by the management server. Where?
