(U//FOUO) The battery may be changed while the device is powered on or
while the device is powered off. It is recommended that the battery be
changed while the device is powered on because when the device is NOT
powered, there is a 30 second time limit to change the battery. In the
unpowered situation, if the battery is not changed within 30 seconds, data will
be lost. Therefore, it is important that the operator has the new battery ready
before starting!
(U//FOUO) It is very important that the new battery be placed in
correctly for polarity. If the battery is inserted backwards, the device
will be tampered if prime power is not present or removed.
