Inthecaseofbigger,morecomplexfeaturesthattakemorethanaweek
todesign,thereareotherapproachestointegratingtheiterationloopintothesprint.
Oneapproachistopreparedesignsonesprintinadvance,anddedicate
anentiresprinttoimplementation.Forexample,considerFigure2.13,
whichshowsthreeconsecutivesprints.DuringsprintB,developersare
implementingthechangesfromthepreviousDesignphase.Meanwhile,
thepeopleinchargeoftheUser-CenteredDesignprocessdotheEvaluationphaseonthe
latestbuildofthetoolfromsprintA.Then,theylookattheresultsintheAnalysisphase.
Finally,changesareproposedintheDesignphaseanddeliveredrightbeforethestartof
sprintC,andthenthecycleshiftsaheadbyonesprint.
WHOHASTHETIMETODOALLOFTHIS?
Thisprocessmightseemlikealotofwork.Formany,thisisabigshiftawayfromhow
toolsdevelopmentistraditionallydone.However,ifwe
agreethatthewaywehavebeenworkinginthepasthasresultedintoolswithabaduser
experience,perhapsitistimetotrysomethingdifferent.
Workingdifferentlywillrequireacultureshift,whichwewilldiscussinthefinalchapter.
Inaperfectworld,therewouldbeonepersonineachtoolsteamdrivingtheUser-CenteredDesignprocess.However,whenthatisnotpossible,theteammustworktogetherandtakeituponthemselvestoapply

Ifyoustudiedobject-orientedprogramminginschool,youprobably
startedbycreatingclassdiagrams.Ifyoustudied3Dmodeling,youprobablystartedby
usingafrontandsidereferencedrawing.Afterafewyearsofprogramming,younolonger
neededtocreateaclassdiagramforeverysingleclass,andyounolongerneededfrontand
sidereferencestocreateeverysinglemodel.Theywereusefultoolsintheearlydays,but
