Internet Mystery Scrappy Sampler III: An internet Block of the

1930’s or Brights lead her down the path of intrigue? Was the butler responsible
for the shockingly beautiful reds and blacks? Join us for six months of secretive
sewing, deciphering subtly placed clues (oh, okay the clues are easy…) Print
out clue sheets, once a month, September through March, you’ll crack the case
and come up with a lap quilt that reveals that someone was guilty of making
six different blocks from an awesome set of scraps! (We’ll have clue sheets

We’re still going to Tuscany in October of 2010. The
itinerary is up! Join us for 10 days of fun for $3695.00. Sign up
at www.sewmanyplaces.com, click on “online reservations,” in
the upper right corner and they’ll call you back for credit card

We loved the African themed embroidered blocks so much
we asked Jaien Beck, the founder of the non profit Ancient
Ways, and the one who taught these Zimbabwean women, to
teach us these basic, but endearing stitches with local folk art
theme ideas. The stitches are done on basic black calico and
we are eagerly awaiting our new DMC rack of floss. Don’t
miss this class; she’s a busy lady.
Karla’s new book, Color Shuffle, is due off the press in
October; look for her class in this schedule and we’ll have presales of the book, 20% off if you order before it arrives. I know
that’s a sight un-seen thing for a few of you, but enough of
us know her or her style to make this promotion a lot of fun!
Quiltopia is coming! Enter your quilts in our Show at
the Mill or the Chartreuse Chameleon Challenge show at the
Beanery, then, bring your friends out to see them. We love
quilts made in our classes or “for-sale” at the show, don’t be
shy. Then, buy a ticket for the 9th Quilted Cottage Tour.
The net proceeds go to help children with autism and we
guarantee you’ll be inspired to make new creations after you
see these houses laden with quilts. One ticket holder wins a
brand spankin’ new sewing machine donated by Whitlocks
Sew and Vac, better odds than the lottery, this is a good deal
at last year’s prices, $15 or two for $25. Also, check page 7 for
two Quiltopia drawings.
We just finished classroom testing the new Mystery
Scrappy Sampler III for the Internet. The first (September)
block is up now and will continue October through March. A
big thanks to my helpful students, the quilts are beautiful and
several plan to be done and hung at our fall show at the Mill.

If you’re reading this before school starts, wander in any
Thursday before 1pm and see the quilt campers finishing
their twin sized quilts. Their color choices, and use of our
fun designer fabrics has been phenomenal. And, of course,
more of that fun fabric keeps arriving, too many collections
to mention, but the Christmas groups are here and already
cutting, with better than ever design combinations, how can
they keep doing that?
Most of this flyer is about classes; we know you’ll love the
new ones and the other great ones are back. Remember the
free classes fill quickly and look for the 4 new projects we’ve
added to the Gifts Class. Read on, check out the Pinot Piecing
and keep on quilting.

beautiful large scale prints. Several table

beauty of the fabric without cutting it into small
pieces. Fun sassy quilts in a reasonably priced

new easy artsy looking quilt to your own décor.

PJs, pillows, bags and more, this is a great book

gifts to family, friends and at fairs. Directions
are clear with lots of pictures, safety tips and
helpful “hints”. Oh, did I mention, Sara is 13!
Her bio makes this believable! Come take a
