1. The NetWork Apparatus: What, Why, and How? What Is the NetWork Apparatus? The NetWork apparatus is a compact tool that can be used by teams of two to eight participants working together. The apparatus has a felt pen that is used to mark different locations on reusable, laminated targets. The marker is attached to four cords that pass through loops. The participants position themselves around the apparatus and hold one or two rings attached to the ends of the cords. They coordinate their actions to move the marker over the target and to mark specific locations on the target. There are two versions of the NetWork apparatus. NW1, designed for floor use, is 33 inches long, 33 inches wide, and 28 inches tall. NW2 occupies an 18-inch cube. It is designed for tabletop or floor use. This manual refers primarily to NW2. However, all the activities and information are equally applicable to NW1. 1
