Fédération Aéronautique Internationale Sporting Code Section 3 – Gliders The FAI Sporting Code for gliders (the “Code”) sets out the rules and procedures to be used to verify soaring performances. The essence of these rules is to ensure that a soaring performance is achieved to a level of proof that is consistent for all flights. When processing the evidence supplied, Official Observers (OO) and the National Airsport Control (NAC) should ensure that these rules are applied in the spirit of fair play and competition. In Chapter 1 of the Code, a word or phrase appearing in small capital letters indicates that it has a distinct definition as it applies to the Code. References outside a chapter are by paragraph number. Text in italic is informational in nature and not part of the rules and regulations of the Code. iii SC3-2009-AL0
