3. V35 / X21 Interface. Female DB15 connector ( V35/x21)
Allows the connection of an external TA or an interface for point-to-point lines or radio links at
speeds of 64 or 128 kpbs (2 types):
- V35 (V11) interface: Uses unbalanced asynchronous control signals, with balanced
synchronous clock and data signals.
- Physical level interface, compatible with X.21 / RS422 protocol levels.
The pin-out detail and the signals available in the female DB-15 connector are as follows:

The AEQ SWING may be configured through the control software to define whether the DCD
signal will manage communication (DCD CONTROLLED) or whether, in the opposite case, it is
a connection with no DCD management (PERMANENT). In the latter case, it will only be
necessary to connect the six shaded signals above to establish the connection to the interface.
(And GND)
To connect the AEQ SWING to a v35 interface, it will be necessary to find the exact pin-out
correspondence in the user’s manual for the interface.
There are a great variety of connectors used in TA equipment and other v35 interfaces found on
the market; therefore, AEQ cannot provide details about all possible connections.
As an example, the connection to a terminal adapter with ISO standard 2593 using an MRAC34 connector is shown below.

Some external interfaces and terminal adapters are configurable. In that case, it is necessary to
make sure that they have these parameters:
- 64kbps/128kbps
- Synchronous
- CD Forced (ON)
- Ignore DTR
