CMSi Admin Manual _________________________________________________________________________ • • • • • • At the Site level, if you have entered Admin Areas (CMS7 = Regions), you may want to identify the Admin Area Type now that you have the ability to do this or convert some into a Organisational Hierarchy so that the sites become structured under this organisational region in the Site Tree (see CMSi User Manual). If you do not use Features, as mentioned above, you will need to use a prepared customisation in CMSi that translates certain labels and hides other ones. Your CMS Support team will have the appropriate customisation settings to do this. In the rare case of having one Objective for two or more Features in CMS7, the shared objective and related Factors, Attributes and Management will be copied into the individual Feature records. This is because the Feature and Objective levels have been combined for simplicity in CMSi. In CMS7, there were memo fields to discuss why you chose some Factors & Limits and Attributes & Limits on the Objective form and then you identified the actual Factors and Attributes you wanted to use as performance indicators in the Site Tree. The problem with this was that the text discussing an individual Factor was “lost” in a larger block of text on the Objective form. In CMSi, at the Factor / Attribute / Management level, there is a new Description field in which you can discuss that particular Factor, Attribute or Management. Hence the field at the Feature level has now become more of an overall discussion field where you can also list ones you considered but did not choose as performance indicators. You may want to reorganise your text to fit this new structure but this can be done over time. In CMS7, you could plan which compartments an Annual Project should occur within. This information was stored in a table that linked the Annual Project to the Compartment code. This is handled differently within CMSi in that this is linked to the Compartment GIS polygon. Hence before this data is visible in CMSi, you need to create the spatial boundaries for the compartments. If you then contact [email protected], you will be told how to relink the Annual Projects to the Compartments once you have done this. If you have planned staff time in hours in CMS7, you will need to use the Hours customisation in your setup (see Customisation section below). _________________________________________________________________________ Page 5 Manual v 2 ©CMS Consortium 2012
