A) Pedagogical considerations--Feedback: How does the application evaluate the
learner's response?
The application has a link–“Language Practice”–where there are various exercises, about
four in each chapter. Most of the exercises are Matching. The teacher manual includes socalled “Extensive Activities”, which asks short questions about specific aspects that form a
big part of the task that they just completed. These activities are similar to essay type of
assessment. For instance, they require students to explain in details what the time machine
is. Students brainstorm ideas as groups or in pairs and use different strategies to present
their answers, such as Tables.
