BLUtag detects, records and reports four types of tampering to VeriTracks: case, strap, GPS
signaljamming and CPS signal shielding. BLUtag's tamper-resistant case is made of
hypoallergenic, industrial-grade plastic. lf the enrollee tries to crack or break open the
device, light hits an internal sensor and BLUtag immediately detects and records the date
and time of the event. ln active or hybrid monitoring mode, BLUtag immediately reports the
tamper event to VeriTracks using nationwide cellular phone service. Visual inspection may
also indicate tampering, such as excessive scratches, marks and deep cuts.
BLUtag's strap is made of hypoallergenic, industrial-grade thermoplastic rubber and lined
with fiber optic cable, which detects tampering. If the enrollee cuts or stretches the strap,
the fiber optic's circuit breaks
and BLUtag immediately
detects and records the
tamper event, In active and

on GPS signal jamming and GPS signal shietding events. GPS jamming occurs when the
enrollee uses a low-cost and illegal piece of equipment to interfere with the CPS signal. GPS
shielding occurs when the enrollee uses a foreign material to prevent BLUtag from receiving
CPS signals. Both of these events are tampering with the device and violations of the
enrollee's terrns of supervision. When BLUtag detects GPS signal iamming or shielding
conditions and they continue for a pre-determined length of time, it immediately reports the
data to VeriTracks using nationwide cell phone service when in active or hybrid monitoring
