A screen similar to the following illustration will appear. HOWEVER, the 2007 screen will
also include a section asking for the ethnicity of the participant.
Begin by entering the participant's date of birth. The system has been designed to determine if
a child is within the acceptable age range when the date of birth is entered. A child must be
within the age range of 10 to 16 years of age. If a child turns 10 on or prior to August 31 of the
program year, they are eligible for the program. If a child turns 17 on or after June 1 of the
program year, they are eligible for the program.
Examples of birth dates that fall outside the acceptable range, and the resultant alerts, are
shown below and on the following page.
