Compatibility For a list of adapters that are compatible with the standalone driver kits and the ULDK, see the specific driver's Downloads page on the Emulex Web site. For compatible firmware versions, see the Downloads page for the specific adapter. Note: Check the Emulex Web site for the latest firmware releases. Note: You must install the latest firmware and ULDK at the same time on OneConnect UCNAs. The installation order does not matter. Note: NPIV is supported on all SLI-4 Emulex OCe10100 Universal CNAs. NPIV is also supported on all SLI-3 Gb/s and 8 Gb/s adapters. Emulex enterprise class (5 digit model number) and midrange class (4 digit model number) adapters support SLI-3. Emulex 3 digit model number adapters do not fully support SLI-3 and therefore do not support NPIV. The FC and FCoE 8.2.X driver supports all adapters running SLI-2, but NPIV support is not available in SLI-2 mode. For SLI-4 AND SLI-3 supported adapters, use the latest recommended firmware for NPIV support. Things to Know Before You Download • You must uninstall any previous driver kits and/or Application Helper Modules that were installed from the Emulex CD or downloaded from the Emulex Web site, (i.e. not part of a distribution), before installing this driver kit. • When upgrading or downgrading a Linux Red Hat iSCSI driver using a driver RPM, where a iSCSI driver has been previously installed via a driver update diskette (DUD), the initrd will be built with the iSCSI driver from the DUD by default, which means the wrong iSCSI driver will be loaded upon system boot. The location of the modules to be included in the initrd depends on depmod directory searches. The depmod searches the "updates" folder before it searches the "extra" folder. Since the RPM installs the updated/downgraded driver in the "extra" folder, the system will boot from the "updates" folder rather than where the revised drivers are actually located. To force the correct driver to load, follow one of these methods: 1. Rearrange the order in the /etc/depmod.d/depmod.conf.dist file so that the default order can be overridden: # override default search ordering for kmod packaging search updates extra built-in weak-updates or, 2. Remove the be2iscsi.ko file from the update directory before installing the driver RPM. Known Issues • See the product release notes for the latest information.
