Book 18 Launchable Applications Launchable Applications are word processing or Braille transcription applications that you can start from OpenBook’s Launch Menu. When you start an application from the Launch Menu, the new application becomes active while OpenBook runs in the background. Documents, originally opened in OpenBook, open in the file format of the new application. Note: You may need screen-reading software to read documents in some of these launchable applications. To move between applications, hold down the ALT key, and press the TAB key. You may need to press TAB more than once to cycle through each application. When you reach the application you want active, release both keys simultaneously. Adding New Launchable Applications You can choose to have OpenBook search for and add standard launchable applications such as Microsoft Word, WordPad, or Notepad, or you can manually add specific applications you want to use as launchable applications. 185
