P REFACE
Purpose of This Guide
This implementation of the Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI)
provides connection oriented access to several data link protocols. It
supports connection establishment, flow-controlled data transfer, a resynchronization mechanism and connection teardown.
Knowledge Requirements
The discussion in this manual assumes the reader is familiar with the
DLPI protocol[1] and has some understanding of ATT STREAMS [2].
Some knowledge of the Network Management Interface [3] described in
GCOM’s UNIX Streams Administrator’s Guide is useful but not
required.
