1. Introduction
1.1
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Xedio Di spat cher is a s o ftware p rodu ct use d for i mporti ng A/V f iles , rough -cutt ing
and ex port ing roug h-cu ts to mul tip le d esti nati ons a nd fo rmats .
Xedio D ispa tche r aut oma tical ly de tect s con nect ed devic es (su ch as CANO N, P2,
XDCAM or XDCAM EX d evices ), a nd i nsta ntly dis plays the ir co nten ts. Thi s all ows
immedia te brow sing of t he me dia dire ctly on th e dev ice, whi ch spee ds up the
shoot se lect ion, su b-cl ip ping and /or fas t rough -c ut editi ng. Sho ots, su b-c lips and
edits ca n also be in stan t ly logge d. Xedi o Dispa tc her also sc ans dri ves or folders
upon u ser requ est and di splays the ir c ont ent.
As soo n as cl ips are dis played in Xed io D ispa tc her, they are ava ilab le t o Xed io
databa se and medi a s erver as grow ing cli ps , wit hout wa itin g t he end o f
transc odin g pr oces s.
Once sel ecte d or cr eat ed, the s ub- c lips a nd c onsoli dat ed sto rybo ards can be
easily tran sferr ed fr om t he devi ce its elf t o any t arget s uch as EV S vide o server,
media se rver ( for e xampl e: SAN, XS tore ), or a ny t ype of s torag e. Th ey can also be
export ed to a f ile th at ca n be read by a n exte rnal system or t o an ext erna l device
such a s a tap e rec orde r.

REQUESTING AND IMPORTING THE LICENSE KEYS
In th e XS ecure Man ager applic ati on i nsta lled on t he Xed io D ispa tche r wor kstat ion,
you need to cl ick the Re quest but ton to ge nera te an XML file. Emai l this XML file
to th e EVS sup port and a sk for th e Imp ort Key fil e.
Once yo u have rece ived the Imp ort Ke y fil e, yo u need to sele ct and impo r t the fi le
via t he I mport Key File b utton in XSecu re M anag e r.

3.1
EXPORT TARGET PROFILES
3.1.1
DEFINITION
An Expor t Targe t Profi le (also cal led ‘RTP rof’ ) i s an .xml fil e that c onta ins the
defin itio n for ren deri ng t he story boar d creat ed in Xedio Disp atch er into a single
file on a giv en d esti nati o n or into a c lip on a giv en EVS s erve r.
The Expor t Targe t Profi le mainly incl udes th e defi nitio n of the dest ina tions , and of
the c odecs in whic h th e f i le or cli p ne ed t o be gen e rated .
The Expo rt Targ et Pr ofile s avai labl e in Xe dio Disp atch er are s t ored in:
C:\XedioDispatcherMS\Profiles\RTProf.
The E xpor t Ta rget Pro fil es ca n b e d efin ed a nd c ustomi zed to your ne eds by the
EVS Proje ct Manag er. However , you can al so create you r own Expor t Target
profi les usin g th e Tar get Wizard .

CREATING YOUR OWN EXPORT TARGET PROFILE
You can crea te an Expo rt Targ et pr ofi le fr om th e Expor t to T arge t to ol i n Xedio
Dispat cher , by mean s of the Targe t wizar d. This operati on is ex plai ned in this
chapte r si nce it shou ld b e per forme d as you con fi gure y our appl icat ion .
To cre ate an E xpor t Ta rg et Pro fil e in Xed io Di spat cher, proc eed as f oll ows:
1. In Xed io D ispa tche r, c lick the Expor t t o Tar get tab in th e To ols area :

H OW TO E XPORT A S TORYBOARD TO T ARGET
To expo rt a s tory boar d open i n the Stor yboar d area to a t arge t, pr o ceed as
follow s:
1. Click the Expo rt t o Ta rge t tab in the Tool s ar ea t o expand it .
2. In th e Ta rget fie ld, do o n e of the foll owin g:

4. Click Star t at the bot tom of th e Ex port too l.
The st oryb oard is expo rte d as defi ned in t he s elec t ed ta rget pro file .
The pr ogre ss o f th e ex po rt jo b is dis play ed i n th e List of e xpor t jo bs:
