3. Encoders
3.1
INTRODUCTION
Encode rs are p hysic al de vices wh ich al low the d ig itiza tion o f incom ing au di o/vid eo
feeds in to mul tipl e file f ormats . Most of t he mod els are co nfig ured t o en code lores or hi- res f eed. The y can be log ical ly g roup ed to as soci ate phys ical e ncoder s
handl ing t he sam e fee d, eithe r in hi -res or in lo-r es. So, edit ing o pera tion s can be
quickl y perf ormed on lo -r es media and t hen ref lec ted to the cor resp ondi ng hi -res
media for furt her news pr oduct ion and play out.
The XEDIO I /O enc oder model is a ble to e ncod e both lo -res an d hi-r es at the same
time.

A filte ring can b e app lie d befor e sta rtin g a sea rc h for or phan file s. Thi s f ilter ing
allows the u ser t o per for m the se arch o n all the media s erver s or o nly o n one of
them a nd i n al l t he f olde r s or in o nly one of t hem.
Once t he fi lter is c onf igu red, t he se arch is s tart ed using the R efre sh bu tto n or th e
F5 key boar d sh ortc ut.
