Detector retraction procedure
If moving the SJ-201P or if it will not be used for a long period of time, prevent damage to
the detector or workpiece caused by the detector tip interfering with the workpiece by
retracting the detector.
IMPORTANT Do not perform detector retraction if an extension rod (optional) is installed. The
extended detector is subject to an external force: This may cause breakage of the
drive unit.

NOTE The retraction function will not work while the
power is on.

When the power is off, press the [POWER/DATA] key while
holding down the [START/STOP] key.
This retracts the detector.
During retraction “-----” will be displayed on the LCD.
NOTE If no key operation is performed for more than
30 seconds after retraction has been completed, the power will be automatically turned
off by the auto-sleep function.
