I.
INTRODUCTION
The TDcontroller described is this manual in specifically designed to be used in conjunction with NEXO
cabinets :
•
TS2400 for the TS TDcontroller
•
SI, SI1000, SI1200 and SI2000 for the SI TDcontroller
•
MSI-C, MSI-C2, MSI-V, MSI-V2 & MSI-D2 for the MSI TDcontroller
The TS TDcontroller, the SI TDcontroller and the MSI TDcontroller are very closely related in principle
and operation. Their internal parameters are nevertheless very different and they are thus not
interchangeable. Some user accessible functions are different between the three products.
The TDcontroller permanently monitors the Temperature and Displacement of each Loudspeaker’s
moving assembly. It also permanently compares each Amplifier input and output. As it is only intended for
sound-reinforcement applications, the Left and Right Channels are totally independent without Stereo
link. The various multiband and multiway devices described in this manual only operate within a given
Left or Right channel. The following advanced functions will be discussed later in the manual :

Besides their advanced features, TDcontrollers include all basic functions required from a NEXO system
processor :

Active crossovers (two times two way).

Time alignment of components (phase correction) to ensure correct acoustic addition.

Internal system Equalisation.
•
Elementary protection against very low & very high frequencies.
•
Elementary protection against power shutdown by timed relays.
•
User adjustable controls. (Array EQ, Gain, Mute).
USER GUIDE
II.1. Read before use
The specific advanced functions of the TDcontroller are located on the TDC3 servo control card ; this
card processes information sent through the Sense inputs connected to the Amplifier outputs.
Proper servo control operation requires wiring and connections to be in accordance with instructions
given in this Manual (chapter II.II.4) : please read carefully these instructions before using the system. If
properly wired and connected, TDcontroller servo control operation will be automatic and transparent to
the user, without need for any calibration.
NEXO controllers are shipped ready to use with a 220V-240 VAC mains voltage. They will work with 110120 VAC mains voltage, but this requires internal switching after opening the unit.
