WebEx troubleshooting – Checking your audio
You have plugged in your headphones or perhaps you are using your built in microphone and logged
into WebEx and but you can’t hear!
Check you have clicked on Connect to Audio (the large button on the left side of the screen)
A box will appear; make
sure you are not muted
If you are not the meeting host, then
look out for the prompt to
participate in the voice conference.
Test your audio (look at the top of the screen and click on Audio and Test Computer Audio)
Make sure you have your headphones
(or whatever device you are using) is
chosen from the drop down menu on the
Speaker and Microphone settings and
uptick the Automatically adjusting
volume to prevent sound fluctuates.
Finally click Test; you should hear a tune.

Still not working? - Check your computer
Click on start (bottom left of the screen) and go into your Control Panel
Go to the Control Panel
Find the Sound settings
Make sure your headphones (or
whatever device you are using) is
default. Click on the appropriate
icon and then Set Default.
Ensure your headphones (or whatever device you are using) is not muted on the
computer (bottom right side of the screen), and click on Mixer to check the WebEx audio
volume is not muted.

Using a mobile device?
If you are using a tablet device then look out for the prompt to Connect Using Internet. The
telephone icon allows you to connect/disconnect at any time.
If you are using a smart phone then look out for a prompt to connect and also to ensure the WebEx
app has permissions to use the microphone.
