・If your computer is IBM Compatible (DOS/V), check whether the serial
port has been rendered unusable by the BIOS setting.
・If your computer has an internal modem, make sure that the
communication port is not being used by the modem. In some cases,
users of Windows 95 may not be able to use COM 1 even though the
settings have been made. Check to see which port is being used by the
modem. You can check this in the Control Panel by opening [Modem].
・If you have another computer, please try communication using that
computer.
・Make sure the serial port is usable or not. With many all-in-one
computers, the modem or other such device is using it. Please take
the following steps to check your serial port and if it is unusable please
contact your computer's maker.
① Please go to the [Control Program] Menu and open [System].
② Here you will find [Device Manager], open and click on [Port
(COM&LPT)]
