Euro ISDN Protocol NI-‐2 Local Number 1 NTT Local Number 2 Local Number 3 RNIS Parameter Local Number 4 Sub-‐address 1 Sub-‐address 2 Sub-‐address 3 Sub-‐address 4 SPID Codec Mode Single Codec Double Codec Notes: x Protocol: NI-2 is used in North America, NTT is the protocol of the Japanese operator NTT, and Euro ISDN (or ETSI) can be used in the majority of the other countries (see more details on page 9, Network protocol). x Local Number and Sub-address: these settings are irrelevant for the NI-2 protocol. Their meaning and use is detailed further, page 66, in 4.5.1, Setting up a link in ISDN mode. x SPID: this setting only applies to the NI-2 protocol, and is not presented for the other protocole. See page 66, in 4.5.1, Setting up a link in ISDN mode, more about this setting. x Codec Mode: selection of either the normal ´single codecµ mode or the ´Double codecµ mode. In this latter case, it may be important to set a distinctive local number + sub-address combination for each of the two first channels.
