Figure 7: Device - Status
6.4.1
Status
The “Status“ area displays all device-specific data. This includes the unique serial number and MAC ad dress, as well as the supported CAN types and the version numbers. The operating hours are counted separately for the device states "Monitoring" and "Device turned on". The “E-mail status” informs about successfully delivered / undelivered mails.
The device is ideally prepared for future extensions thanks to the possibility of firmware updates. You can
only use updates released for your device. Attention: A firmware update will delete all your measuring data.
6.4.2
Date/Time
This screen can be used to set the time and date. Please note that "UTC" (Universal Time Coordinated) is
to be used. This is the only way to be able to compare different measurements from different locations in the
world with each other. The exporting of the measurement data for use in other programs (CAN Bus Tester 2
software) is thus also possible.
In addition to setting the time manually, the time setting can also be received automatically from a time server. The IP address and the host name of the time server can be entered in the "NTP time server" field. If the
time server is not integrated into the local network (e. g. "pool.ntp.org"), a gateway must be specified under
“Network“ If the host name of the time server is used instead of the IP address, in addition, the DNS server
must be specified under “Network“.
