Chapter 6 Logical Object Dialog Boxes C6576M Syslog Dialog Box C6576M Syslog Dialog Box This dialog box displays attributes for the system log messages on the switch or router. This dialog box can be launched from a Software object or Syslog object within the Physical view. You can choose more than one Software object at a time from the object list on the left side of the dialog box. IOS Tab Figure 6-24 shows the IOS tab of the C6576M Syslog dialog box. The IOS tab provides the following information: Note • Facility—The facility that generated the syslog message. • Severity—The severity of the message. • Message Name—Identifies the message type. The Message Name and Facility together uniquely identify a message type. • Message Text—The text of the message. If the message text exceeds 255 characters, the message is truncated to 254 characters and an asterisk (*) is appended to the text to indicate that the message has been truncated. • Timestamp—The timestamp when the message was generated. An alarm will be generated for each entry in this table.
