Hardware Preparation and Installation Product Damage High humidity and condensation on the board surface causes short circuits. Do not operate the board outside the specified environmental limits. Make sure the board is completely dry and there is no moisture on any surface before applying power. 2.3.2 Power Requirements Up to 90 W (18 A at 5 V) of power can be supplied to the board in a 5-row backplane. 70 W (14 A at 5 V) can be supplied in a 3-row backplane. The board requires 18 W to 22 W (3.6 A to 4.4 A at 5 V) to operate. The remainder is available to the PMC site, but you have to make sure to not exceed 10 A (33 W) on 3.3 V. The next table provides an estimate of the typical and maximum power required.
