Fence Device Parameters
This appendix provides tables with parameter descriptions of fence devices. You can configure the
parameters with lu ci, by using the ccs command, or by editing the etc/cl uster/cl uster. co nf
file. For a comprehensive list and description of the fence device parameters for each fence agent,
refer to the man page for that agent.
Note
The N ame parameter for a fence device specifies an arbitrary name for the device that will be
used by Red Hat High Availability Add-On. This is not the same as the D NS name for the
device.
Note
Certain fence devices have an optional Passwo rd Scrip t parameter. The Passwo rd Scrip t
parameter allows you to specify that a fence-device password is supplied from a script rather
than from the Passwo rd parameter. Using the Passwo rd Scrip t parameter supersedes the
Passwo rd parameter, allowing passwords to not be visible in the cluster configuration file
(/etc/cl uster/cl uster. co nf).
Table A.1, “ Fence D evice Summary” lists the fence devices, the fence device agents associated with
the fence devices, and provides a reference to the table documenting the parameters for the fence
devices.
