Allocating storage using AutoPath
In “Allocating CLARiiON devices (LUNs) to a host” on page 155, a storage
administrator added storage to a host connected to a CLARiiON array using the
standard method of allocating storage with Ionix ControlCenter. In this scenario, the
administrator intends to allocate storage that is already mapped to a port on the
CLARiiON array, but uses an Ionix ControlCenter wizard called Autopath to streamline
the zoning and LUN masking portion of the storage allocation process.
The administrator completes the following tasks to allocate storage from the CLARiiON
array using AutoPath:

Determines if storage is available on the CLARiiON array

Ensures the CLARiiON is accessible from the host

Uses the AutoPath Wizard to establish the path between host and array by setting
up zoning and LUN masking
