5Programming Details 5 Introduction This chapter contains details of several programming functions that are not tied to any specific ASIC chip. PCI Arbitration PCI arbitration can be performed by either the Hawk ASIC (default), or the PIB. The Hawk ASIC supports eight external PCI masters. This includes Hawk and 7 external PCI masters. The arbitration assignments on the MVME2400 series when the Hawk is the PCI arbiter are as follows: Table 5-1.
