CHAPTER 5. IMPLEMENTATION AND INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
The answer stands when checking the original information that has lead to the creation
of the virtual view. The problem is the quality of the depth map utilized, that is
realiable in most pixels of the image, but still has some faults.
The proof is in Figures 5.33 and 5.34, where there are the parts of the original image and
the depth map corresponding to it. It is seen that a part of the finger is not properly
characterized, and therefore the algorithm considers that it is part of the background
(because they both -the part of the finger and the background- have the depth). Then,
when creating the virtual view, it is separated from the rest of the hand.
