Cut a 3/4"(l.gcm) hole in la_, side or floorof cabinet(B) for directwiring.Rightside is easiestlocation. Wood cabinet: Sandhole untilsmooth. Metal cabinet: Coverhole withgrommet (Part No.302797) availablefrom your dealeror parts supplier. 6. Install a U.L-listed/C_A-certffied strain relinfto the junction box. If using conduit, use a Ui.-listed/CSA-cer tiffed conduit connector. Connect the power supply wire to the junction box. Run the other end of wire through cabinet hole (B). The power supply wire must extend 24 inches (61cm) from the back wall into cabinet opening. Power supply cord method Localcodes maypermit a U.L.-listed/_A-cer tiffed,16-gauge,power supply cord (PartNo.4317824) (C) with a three-prong,groundtypeplug (D) to connect dishwasherto grounded outlet (E). 5. Cut a 1-1/2"(3.8cm) hole in rear or rightside of cabinet (F) for powersupplycord. Rightside is easiest location. Wood cabinet: Sand hole until smooth. Metal obinet: Coverhole with grommet (PartNo.302797) availablefromyour dealer or parts supplier. 6. Install a matingthree-pronggronnd-typeoudet in an adjacent cabinet. Waterline (protect from freezing) 7. CUta 1/2"(1.3cm) minimum hole (G) in cabinet wall orfloor for water line. Loftside is easiestlocation. 8. Roughwaterline (H) to the cabinetopening. 9. Install a manualshutoffvalvein the water line whereit can be easilyused. 10. Flushwater line into a bucket to get rid ofany particles thatmay cloginlet valve. Check thatthere are no sharp bends or ldnks in the waterline thatmayrestrictthe waterflow. Turnshutoffvalveto the "OFF"position. Drain hose 11. Insert drain hose into hole cut into caFmet. Checkthatdrain hose does not contactdoor springs,motor orwater line. • Do Notrun drain hose over topof tub. Checkthatdrain hose is not kinked or twisted. Insert power supply cord into hole cut into cabinet. Drain hose (H) to disposer (I) Knock out disposer inlet plug from inlet 0)- If inlet plug fallsinside disposer,youmust removeinlet plug before connec_ng drainhose. If disposeris alreadyinstalledin sink, youmay needto removedisposer from sinkto removeplug. DONOTcutend of drain hose. Securedrain hose to disposer with spring-or screw-type damp (X). Mostdisposershave7/8"connectors,or special connectors are availableatplumbingsupplystores. Runpowersupplywire throughstrainrelief,ff usingconduit, use a U.L.-listed/CA_-cer tiffedconduit connncmr.Runconduit through connector. • Connectthe whitewire (G) from the power supplywire to the whitewire in the terminalboxwith twist-onwire connector. • Connectthe blackwire (H) fi'omthe power supplywire to the black wire in the terminalbox withtwist-onwire connector. If the ground connector (I) looks like this: • Loosenfront nut O) on groundconnectorlocatedon the backof terminalbox. Do Notloosen the rearnut (K) on the ground connector. • Form the baregroundwire (L) into a U-shapedhook. Wrap ground wire hook clockwisearound ground connectorand between the rearandfront nuts. Securelytightenthe front nut (J) overthe groundwire. • Tightenstrain relief or conduitconnector screws (M). OR If the ground connector (i) looks like this: • Loosenscrew O) onground connector locatedon the backof terminalbox. • Formthe bareground wire (K) into a U-shapedhook. It must be routed so it does not touch the dishwasher motor or lower portion of the dishwasher tub. A swain relief must be used to secure the power supply cord to the dishwasher terminal box. The power supply cord must be plugged into a mating 3-prong, ground-type oudet, grounded in accordance with all national and local codes and ordinances. • Ifa powersupplycord is attachedto dishwasherbutyouneed to direct wiredishwasher,youwill need DirectWireConnectionKit(Part No. 4317979). Removepowersupplycordand make all directwire connectionsinsideterminalbox. Connect the airgapto disposer using a rubberconnector (P)* andspring- or serew-typoclamps(Q). Mostdisposershave7/8"connectors,or specia]connectorsare availableatplumbingsupplystores. The disposer connection MUSTbe ahead of the drain trap (It) and 20 inches (50.8cm) minimum above the floor (S). * All parts are available from your dealer. to waterinletvalve(B). Checkthatall parts havebeen installed (except access and lower panels) and no steps wereskipped. _ Checkthatyou have all the tools youused.
