In steps of how to join see section 2.0. After joining and clicking on “Matches” located on the top right corner you will be able to fill out the questionnaire, in order to accomplish this see section 2.4 below. Figure 6: Match 3.1 How to fill it out. Filling out the questionnaire is fairly simple. You can pick out what questions you what to fill out, meaning you don’t have to fill out every question. But keep in mind the more questions you fill out the better the match will be. In the picture above, Figure 6, you can see some of the questions that are in the actual questionnaire. 3.2 How does it work? The questionnaire works by taking your response and it puts it in an algorithm that gives you a percentage of how compatible you are with other users of the site. KEEP IN MIND YOU WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO CONTACT YOUR MATCHES. 8 4.0 Getting Matches 4.1 Joining a network In order to get matches you have to join a network. To do this, after filling out the questionnaire (see section 3.0). There is a link on the right side of the webpage that’s says “Add them to your profile”, (see Figure 6) this link takes you to your profile. An example of a profile is located below on Figure 7. Another way of going to your profile is the by clicking on your name on the top right corner of the page. To join a network, on your profile page, click on the networks black box and type in the city where the network you want to join is located. For example Orlando, then click Orlando, Florida, Public Network. You are allowed to join more than one network. After picking out the network it will let you know whether is a private or public network and then you can click join. If it is a private network, like the one from the University of Central Florida (UCF) it will ask you for a email to verify that you are part of UCF. Figure 7: Profile 9 4.2 Matches list To view matches after joining a network click on “Matches” located on the top right corner. This will bring you back to the questionnaire page. The matches the algorithm found are located on the right, under “Your Matches”. You can then view their profiles, view the percentages on how well you matched with them, their name and age. In case one of your opinions changes on a certain topic you can change the answer on the questionnaire and it will automatically update your matches. Figure 8: Matches Result 10 5.0 Communication The website allows you to put different information on the website, such as links to other social websites and emails, but the way you can communicate directly on the website is via messages. Then underneath the photo on their profile there is a “Send Message”, which allows you to send that user a message and which they will see when they check their messages and hopefully reply. Preparing for a possible rejection. 2. Feel your best for your date - Join the gym, eat healthy, start a diet. Be well groomed. Feel right about yourself and your date will notice that. 3. Get your look together - Go and get some clothes that would make you look sharp. The effort you put into your clothes will get noticed. 4. Know what you want - Knowing what you want from your date is important. Either marriage or casual hookup it is important to be straight with yourself and with your date. 5. Get Support - It is important to have people that cheer you on and not try to sabotage your dates or your self-esteem. 6. Go Out - You can't meet people without talking to them and you can't talk to them if you stay home all the time. Go out to some clubs, join some groups, go to some fun events. 7. Be true to yourself - Your date will expect you to be similar to them so know yourself and choose your date accordingly. 8. Take your time - Dating is not a race if you're tired of going on a bunch of quick dates, take some time off, relax, and unwind. You'll be back refreshed and feel better than ever. 9. Enjoy the date - It's just a date. The person you are going out with may be or may not be your future partner but the current situation is just a date - enjoy the moment and you both will have fun doing so. 18 10. Be mysterious - Everyone loves a good detective show so play, change it up a bit and keep your date on their toes. If you make yourself too available your date will loose interest and move on. 7.8 How to act on a date Rule number 1: There are no rules. Dating is something that should come natural to both men and women. Dating happens when a man and a woman go through several social activities to fellowship and to observe the other person in order to figure out if they are suitable to be a potential partner for an intimate relationship. Going out for the first time should be extremely fulfilling, but at the same time brings along fear. Both parties usually get so scared worrying about how they should talk, what to wear, where to go, how will the date end, etc. We are here to tell you that DATES ARE FUN! Here are some key points for both men and women on how to act on the first date: 1.) Be Yourself: No matter what happens always be yourself. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT try to be something you are not. If you are shy or if you are very sociable, then be that. To the guys, there is no need to impress the young lady. Remember, she already said YES and is already on the date with you. All you have to do now is be yourself and show her that she made the right decision. To the ladies, there is no reason for you to be scared. You don't have to worry about what he thinks of you, or your hair, or your dress. Him approaching you should be enough to tell you that he wants you, so just be yourself! For Men: 1.) Don't Stare: Looking at other women while on a date is a big NO NO! Also looking at her breast instead of her face isn't good either. Actually listen to what she is saying and respond so she knows you were paying attention. 2.) Be In Charge: Take control of the date; don't wing it. Plan the date prior to going on it. Make reservations. YOU pay for the date Let the lady feel relaxed and let her enjoy herself and your company. 3.) Be Gentlemen: Be polite, be punctual, open doors. Offer her a seat before you sit down. Compliment her throughout the date but don't overdo it. 4.) Live In The Moment: Don't worry about what will happen after the date such as kisses or will there be a second date. Think about the present and not the future. Things will naturally fall into place when you be yourself. 19 For Women: 1.) Be A Lady: Be weary of how much you drink or eat. Limit burping, farting, or laughing to loudly. Dress classy. Men like women whose dress says they are a flirt but are professional at the same time. 2.) Be On Time: Even though its stereotypical for the lady to be late on the first date but DON'T. Be ready and on time to let the men know that you are ready and look forward to this outing. 3.) Don't Talk Too Much: Try not to talk about yourself the whole date. Show him that you are interested in him also. Avoid talking about past relationships; this is not a venting session, it's a date. 4.) Make Him Earn You: If you have the hots for this guy, don't show it. Of course, be flirty, but don't be too easy. Guys like a challenge, but don't overdo it. 20 8.0 Follow us 21
