HCS Microsoft Software Center User Manual
The HCS Microsoft System Center helps IT to easily and efficiently push out software applications,
Pearson content, and other programs in a cloud environment. In order to access the installed
programs, you must complete the install on the HCS network and not from home.
To access the HCS Software Center, open the Windows Start Menu and click on All Programs.
Click Microsoft System Center 2012, then Configuration Manager and then click on the
Software Center. A screen may pop up requesting a username and password. Enter the same
username and password that you use to log in on your HCS laptop.
Once the Software Center opens, you will see some of the applications that have been pushed to your
computer. In the upper right corner under the search box is a link Find additional applications from the
Application Catalog. Clicking this link will take you to a website with a list of all software that is available.
Once at the site, you will see all software that has been made available for install. To request additional
titles added to the catalog, please contact the HCS Helpdesk. To install the software, highlight the title of
the application and click on the Install button in the lower right corner of the screen.
You will then get a confirmation message. Click Yes to begin the install.
Depending on the software title selected, additional windows may open. Follow directions on the screen
to complete the install.
Items Installed in the HCS Software Center:
DyKnow (Teacher) – This is the install that is required for you to use DyKnow Monitor (only required for
teachers of grades 3-12). This install will require a restart after install.
ActivInspire: Software required for your Promethean Board
ActiView Driver: Software required for your Promethean ActiView
ImageMate: Software required to use your Elmo
Pearson Exam View: This program is a test-generator resource.
