SEM Interface User’s Manual Introducon The SEM Interface software enables an SEM to be controlled using mouse driven buttons and controls. The user interface uses many standard Windows® controls and features that make it easy to use for anyone familiar with Windows® operating systems. There are many multifunction controls that use a combination of left and right mouse clicks to make adjusting the SEM parameters fast and efficient. Analog controls use a combination of left right and center mouse clicks for fine medium and coarse adjustments. Digital controls use left and right mouse clicks to select quick presets or random input. Fully customizable quick presets allow customization of controls to a user’s preference. Status information is available in a variety of forms giving the user good feedback as to the current status of the SEM. Custom indicator buttons graphically display the amount of adjustment applied to a setting. Some buttons will be tinted blue to indicate that a particular mode or function is active. Radio buttons are used to show the current setting and enable the setting to be quickly changed. A status bar across the bottom of the form displays information about the current scan mode, the video input source, the last image saved and the current image size. Use the measurement and annotation functions to add graphics and text to images. The measurement functions allow measurements to be made orthogonally, in any direction or can be used to measure angles. A feature of interest can be highlighted by drawing a box around it or adding arrows pointing to it. Text and symbols can be added to the image and then edited if necessary. © 2013 SEMTech Soluons Document Number 900-0107 Rev. G Page 4
