12.0 Release Notes - HyperXtrude / Polymer Processing
Meshing Wizards
All the model setup wizards in “Polymer Processing” are enhanced to efficiently select the components
and boundary faces. In addition, all wizards derive their specific versions form this common
framework and hence, provides a similar look and feel.
Plate Meshing Wizard
Upgrades to this wizard include:
• Computation of exit velocity and extrusion ratio
• Starting the wizard from an existing mesh
• Support for including the tool in the model
Coextrusion Wizard
A new wizard is implemented to guide user systematically starting from a CAD model to setup
coextrusion models with inserts.
• It will compute and show the exit velocity and extrusion ratio for each material layer.
• It supports starting the model from an existing mesh
• It supports meshing and BC creation for Tool
Runner Balancing Wizard
The Runner Balancing Wizard implemented in this release is used to create mesh for injection molding
runner balancing analysis. This tool creates high quality meshes and can handle complex runner
systems.
Melt Flow Analysis
A wizard to guide the model setup of polymer melt flow (or a non-Newtonian fluid) in any three
dimensional conduit is implemented.
Viscoelastic Material Model
Material Database now supports Criminale—Ericksen—Filbey viscoelastic material model.
Project Browser
Enabled Project Browser to manage projects and runs for Plate Meshing, Coextrusion and Melt Flow
Analysis wizards.
