501 General Software Programming Requirements

General
1. The overall objective of the software programming standards is to ensure that all modifications are consistent
with the overall software design and architecture.
2. As much as possible, all software subroutines should be based on the existing Joint Board, standard
modules.

Hardware Redundancy
1. At the Elgin Area WTP and the Lake Huron WTP, the facility SCADA systems consist of redundant
ControLogix PLC and redundant SCADA Servers. The software configurations to include hot standby
switching upon a hardware failure, with no impact on the historical data collection or real time control.
