Error 7008
Conflicting server options causes this error. If one machine is using the ‘Local’
setting in Prevail, and another is using the ‘Remote’ setting, make sure all
machines are using ‘Remote’ (if ADS is installed) or ‘Local’.
If the Prevail Control Panel is re-indexing or packing the database, attempting to
run Prevail will result in this error message. Wait until the reindex or pack
completes before running Prevail.
Error opening database – PVUSERS
Make sure the drive mapped for Prevail is not mapped root. If it is mapped
root/mapped directly to the network Prevail directory, Prevail will not load.
Remove that mapping and map a drive letter to the proper share.
You may also use the UNC location of the Prevail directory in the Settings file.
Error opening database – XXXX
This could be caused by a number of issues. Try the following steps.
1. Check the Prevail Path by running the Prevail Settings. Make sure it is
pointing to the correct set of data, and the mapped drive is valid.
2. Make sure the client application is the correct version for the server
installation.
3. If you are using the Advantage Database Server, make sure you have the
correct server mode set.
4. Pack the database and Reindex.
There could be the possibility of corrupted data. Call PTI.
Prevail did not exit correctly
There is a setting that tells whether or not Prevail is running. If Prevail
ungracefully exited, you will get this notification. This is just for you to know that
you either exited Prevail wrong, or something happened that forced Prevail to fail.
Running Prevail
7038 Error
This error is often indicative of corrupted indexes.
Have everyone exit Prevail, run the Prevail Control Panel, and click the Reindex
button.
