8.4 Industrial Gate
The entrance to a company’s premises is often closed with a gate. The
gate is only opened to let vehicles in and out. The gate is controlled by a
gateman.
8.4.1 Gate Control System Requirements
• The gate is opened and closed by operating a pushbutton in the
gatehouse. The gateman can monitor the operation of the gate at
the same time.
• The gate is normally fully opened or closed. However, the gate
motion can be interrupted at any time.
• A flashing light is activated 5 seconds before the gate begins to
move and continues for as long as the gate is in motion.
• A safety pressure bar prevents harm to persons and objects from
being trapped or injured when the gate closes.
