Configuring your PC to connect to the Internet Installing your Beam device as a Modem: The following instructions are based on Windows® XPand some screens will vary depending on your version of Windows®. Firstly we need to create a new (virtual) modem in Windows® to allow us to dial. Your Beam device, once connected to your PC /Laptop will act as the modem. To do this, click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel open the Add Hardware. Click Next on the following screen: Beam Communications Data Guide – v1.1 21
