Mapped IP Internal private IP addresses are translated through NAT (Network Address Translation). If a server is located in the LAN network, it has a private IP address, and outside users cannot connect directly to LAN servers’ private IP address. To connect to a LAN network server, outside users have to first connect to a real IP address of the WAN 1/2 network, and the real IP is translated to a private IP of the LAN network. Mapped IP and Virtual Server are the two methods to translate the real IP into private IP. Mapped IP maps IP in one-to-one fashion; that means, all services of one real WAN 1/2 IP address is mapped to one private LAN IP address. 127
