Troubleshooting the Air Cylinders Troubleshooting the Air Cylinders Most cylinders have an extend and retract port. To adjust the extend motion of a cylinder you must adjust the flow control on the retract port; this regulates the air flow exhausting from the cylinder and the opposite is true for the retract motion. 1. Check the air pressure to the machine. 2. Check the flow controls to see that they are adjusted correctly and to the proper specifications. 3.
