Installing the OrangeLink drivers on a Mac
The OrangeLink Installer will install Apple FireWire
software, the FireWire OrangeLink Enabler and USB
support. The OrangeLink software can be used on any
Power Macintosh computer running Mac OS 8.6 or
newer.
We are working on support for all our products on Mac
OS X, and concurrent with a Mac OS X FireWire
support release by Ap ple, Orange Micro will have the
necessary upgrade support available.

Insert the OrangeLink FireWire Manual and
Software CD.
Double-click on the OrangeLink Installer icon.
Follow the onscreen instructions.
Restart your computer.
NOTE:
A file called FireWi re Support may be in a folder
titled FireWire in the Apple Extras folder on your
Macintosh. Do not move this older extension to your
Extensions folder; it may interfere with the operation
of the new Apple FireWire software.
Installing the OrangeLink drivers on a PC
The OrangeLink FireWire product can be used on any
Intel Pentium compatible system running Microsoft
Windows 98 Second Edition or Windows 2000. The
OrangeLink/HotLink products are not compatible with
any previous Windows version.

Microsoft refers to FireWire as IEEE-1394; the two
are synonymous.
Insert the OrangeLink FireWire
Software CD.
The installer will Auto Start.
Follow the onscreen instructions.
Restart your computer.

Installing the OrangeLink FireWire PCI Board or
FireWire/USB Board
The OrangeLink software must be installed before
installing the OrangeLink PCI board.
The OrangeLink PCI board must be installed in one of
your computer’s PCI slots.
NOTES:
1. Refer to your computer’s manual for instructions
on how to open your computer and install a PCI
card.
2. The OrangeLink PCI board gets the power it
supplies to the FireWire bus from the PCI slot
Locate the OrangeLink PCI board. With your computer shut
down, open your computer and install the
OrangeLink PCI board.
