Process Overview: Routing Protocol Configuration Configuring IRDP 13.1.4 Configuring IRDP Purpose To enable and configure the ICMP Router Discovery Protocol (IRDP) on an interface. This protocol enables a host to determine the address of a router it can use as a default gateway. Commands The commands needed to enable and configure IRDP are listed below and described in the associated section as shown: • ip irdp (Section 13.1.4.1) • ip irdp maxadvertinterval (Section 13.1.4.2) • ip irdp minadvertinterval (Section 13.1.4.3) • ip irdp holdtime (Section 13.1.4.4) • ip irdp preference (Section 13.1.4.5) • ip irdp address (Section 13.1.4.6) • no ip irdp multicast (Section 13.1.4.7) • show ip irdp (Section 13.1.4.8) 13.1.4.1 ip irdp Use this command to enable or disable IRDP on an interface. ip irdp Syntax Description None.
