Pressure and prime Sol 2, Sol 3, Sol 4, Sol 6 as required and look for leaks.
Backflush S1 (Flush Solv button) for all 20 AA lines and verify all get liquid to them.
Press bottles (leave sit 5 minutes), do pressure test.
Go to manual screen and assign S1 and run all RV's. Verify liquid delivery
and drain into waste 1.
Unplug waste 1 connector and repeat operation and verify liquid delivery and
drain into waste 2 (check for leaks on waste valve fittings).
Load AA bottles for test peptide run.
Pressure AA's and check for leaks.
Prime AA's (2X).
Load resins for run.
Load pep files to RV positions, start synthesis.
Assign cleavage programs to RV's with appropriate start times.
APPENDIX B: HANDLING AND SHELF LIFE OF REAGENTS
CAUTION - THIS INSTRUMENT CONTAINS SOLVENTS AND CHEMICALS
THAT SHOULD BE HANDLED CAREFULLY. MANY ARE EASILY
ABSORBED THROUGH THE SKIN AND CAN CAUSE ADVERSE HEALTH
EFFECTS. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES, PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND
RUBBER GLOVES AT ALL TIMES. FOLLOW MSDS HANDLING
GUIDELINES PROVIDED WITH THE INDIVIDUAL REAGENTS.
RESPIRATORS AND ABSORBENT SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN THE
EVENT OF A SPILL.

Reagent Shelf Life
Proper handling and storage of peptide synthesis reagents is important to the
successful performance of your instrument. Please review the table on the following pages and
make certain that your reagents are correctly stored. Be sure to rotate your stock of reagents
using "first in, first out" so that their shelf-life is not exceeded before use.
