& 6 Software Manual Chapter 6 – Image Display and Navigation Image Display and Navigation The software interface features a special window, the Viewport, to display up to 16 images. Raw images usually need a little touching up in the display to look appealing; contrast, brightness and color can be adjusted. Images series created in multi-dimensional experiment may contain dozens or even hundreds of individual images taken at different points in time, different Z-positions or with different excitation wavelengths. Such data sets require tools for navigation and animation. All this is explained in the following sections. 6.1 The Viewport.................................................................................... 76 6.2 Image Display .................................................................................. 78 6.2.1 General.......................................................................................... 78 6.2.2 Adjust Display…............................................................................ 78 6.2.3 Auto Adjust Display....................................................................... 82 6.2.4 White Balance ............................................................................... 82 6.2.5 Black Balance ............................................................................... 83 6.2.6 Gray Scale..................................................................................... 83 6.2.7 Fluorescence Color ....................................................................... 84 6.2.8 Edit Fluorescence Color… ............................................................ 84 6.2.9 False-Color… ................................................................................ 85 6.2.10 Edit False-Color…......................................................................... 87 6.3 Image Navigation ............................................................................. 93 6.3.1 General.......................................................................................... 93 6.3.2 Multi-Color Images........................................................................ 93 6.3.3 Displaying Different Color Bands in the Tile View Mode............... 94 6.3.4 Time-Lapse Sequences ................................................................ 94 6.3.5 Z-Stacks........................................................................................ 96 6.3.6 Multi-dimensional Sequences....................................................... 96 6.3.7 Parallel Navigation in Multiple Viewports ...................................... 97 6.4 Projections and Extended Focal Imaging........................................ 97 6.4.1 Projections Along the Z and Time Axes ........................................ 97 75
