HemoCue Procedure
Now you are ready to learn about taking the blood sample from the client. You
must have a clean area to work in that is used only for blood work. This area
must be cleaned (disinfectant, bleach or disinfectant wipes) after each client.
Supplies needed:
HemoCue analyzer
HemoCue cuvette
Lancet
Alcohol wipes
Gloves
Gauze
Bandage
Hand sanitizer or sink with liquid soap
Measurement Post-It Note
Pen
Biohazard container (sharps container)
