The Hows and Whys of Azam

Azam allows you to refine your search by using the Smart
search.

Note: The Smart search database is not included in the download
version of Azam. It is only available if you purchase the boxed version
of Azam. Check the Azam IT website at www.azamit.com for more
information on purchasing or upgrading to the boxed version.
The standard Azam search looks for exact matches to the search
keys you entered in both the Keywords and Index Comments of your
recordings. This is quick and efficient if you know the words stored
when you saved your recordings. If you do not remember the exact
words you used then use the Smart search feature.
When using the Smart search feature, Azam will also look for
different forms of your search keys such as plurals/singulars or
past/future tenses. For example - if your search keys contain the
word eat, Azam will also search for ate and eaten.
Azam Smart search also looks for words, which are associated to
your search keys in the following ways –
Words which have the same meaning as search key
(Synonyms) - Searching for eat would include the words
consume, ingest among others.
Words, which are a type of search key (Hyponyms) Searching for cat would include the words lion, tiger among
others.
Words of which search key is a kind (Hypernyms) Searching for lion would include the words cat, big cat
among others.
